I received a version of this letter on Friday Sept 10, 2010. This was 10 days after a representation of the rental management company retained by Fannie Mae came to my home, inspected it, photographed it and presented me with a lease (12 month) that I signed. I also gave them a check for one month's rent and received a receipt. I am not related to the prior owner and had already delivered the old lease to them for review (after the posting of the Knowing Your Options letter on my front door on Aug 9th). Additionally the management company has sent two repairmen out to fix problems already.

Before I signed the new lease with Fannie Mae I was required to list the necessary repairs on the condo. I believe it is possible that Fannie Mae realized the repairs needed were going to be so costly that it would be better to evict me and sell the condo "as is" instead of making $5000 plus worth of repairs on a $60k condo.

I have been unable to reach anyone to discuss. Fannie Mae stated it might be several days before I receive a call back...how convenient that I was given 3 days to vacate!!!

I plan on fighting this and requesting a jury trial if/when they proceed with the eviction. However, what I really want is to stay here under the lease I signed with Fannie Mae on Sept 1st.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?
